Editorial Policy

This page explains how MinecraftDrop decides what to list, how we verify what we list, and how we handle corrections and removals.

Selection criteria

Not every mod, map, shader, or texture pack gets listed. To be considered, a resource must meet all of the following:

  • Publicly available — the resource is downloadable from its creator's page or a recognized platform. We do not list resources that require an account we cannot verify or that are distributed only through closed channels.
  • Documented — the creator states what the resource does, what version it supports, and what loader it requires. A resource with no documentation is not useful to list because we cannot describe it accurately.
  • Legitimate source — the download page is the creator's own site, CurseForge, Modrinth, or an equivalent established platform. We do not link to reupload sites, "mod packer" tools, or aggregators that strip creator attribution.
  • Legal — we do not list resources that infringe copyright, contain known malware, or violate Minecraft's EULA.

How we verify metadata

Every field on a resource page comes from the source page, not from our own testing. Edition, supported version, loader, and file format are copied from the creator's description. If the source does not state a value, we mark it "Unknown" rather than infer it.

Download counts are also copied from the source at listing time. They are not live counters. We note the source and the date of the last check on each resource page.

What we do not publish

  • Resources with no verifiable source.
  • Resources whose license prohibits redistribution.
  • Aggregated "top 10" lists where the ranking is not explained.
  • Pages that exist only to target a keyword and contain no original information.

Corrections

If you find an error — a wrong version, a dead link, a description that does not match the resource — report it through the contact page. We correct confirmed errors and note the change date on the page.

If we cannot confirm a correction, we do not make the change. We would rather list "Unknown" than publish a guess.

Removals

Creators can request removal of their resource from MinecraftDrop at any time, for any reason, without justification. See Copyright / DMCA for the formal process, or use the contact page for a general removal request.

Independence

MinecraftDrop is not affiliated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, CurseForge, Modrinth, or any other platform. We do not accept payment for placement. If we ever introduce affiliate links or sponsored placements, they will be labeled as such on the page where they appear.
